The Ventura County Star is Ventura County's local newspaper. It was known for many years as the Ventura Star-Free Press, itself a merger between the Ventura Star and Ventura Free Press. It's offices used to be located in Ventura, right off of Walker Road, but it has since moved out to Camarillo. They distribute throughout Ventura County.
Editorially, they lean a little bit to the right. Their main competitor is the Los Angeles Times.
