The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean in the world. Its wave lap across the beach, and the Ventura Pier has a longstanding war to see which will stand the longest. The ocean has been winning, but the Pier has recently been fortified with concrete.
Since we are on the eastern side of the Pacific, we get the cool California Current, which keeps our weather cool year round.
