Mound Elementary School is a K-5 Math Magnet School. Students are accepted from throughout the Ventura Unified School District through the Schools of Choice program. Mound served as the pilot school for the Everyday Math curriculum, which is now standard in the district. Parent involvement is considered essential to the school's success.
During the 2009-2010 academic year, Mound received an API score of 940 and met its growth target of four points.
Mound's mascot is the raptor.
