Mass Transit in Ventura mostly consists of the city bus and a few cabs. The buses that cover the city are run by Gold Coast Transit, which used to be South Coast Area Transit or SCAT. The buses that go between cities have been VISTA buses.
You can also hop on the Metrolink in the Montalvo Station if you're heading towards Los Angeles. If you'd like to head up the tracks the other way, towards Santa Barbara, Amtrak is the only option.
Greyhound used to have a station downtown, but it has since closed and reopened as a surf shop.
