The Channel Islands are a chain of islands on the other side of the Santa Barbara Channel. Depending on how humid the air is, you can see one, two, or three of the channel islands. Anacapa Island is the closest island to Ventura; only Anacapa and San Nicolas are part of Ventura County. Most of these islands are part of the Channel Islands National Park.
