When the Santa Ana Winds whip up, a scoop of Ben & Jerry's is a nice way to cool down. They have Fair Trade CertifiedTM Vanilla, Coffee, and Chocolate Ice Creams, and several other flavors with a social conscience.
The shop has a definite hippie theme, with tie-dye aprons, flavors like Wavy Gravy, and a store on the corner of 
Haight and Ashbury. Ben & Jerry's is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unilever, the same chemical company that makes many of your soaps. Luckily, irony is quite tasty.
